At last the weather is improving and our boys and girls have been talking full advantage of the gorgeous sunshine.  We were really pleased to have been awarded some funding by the Early Years Development Fund for outdoor equipment and we have used this to buy new water trays, slides, swings and picnic tables for the garden.  This means that the children can spend more time outdoors, such as during meal times and cards & crafts activities.

Once again we are nearing the close of another academic year and we always enjoy looking back at our photos of the children throughout the year to see how much they have grown.  Many of the children in The Zone have been with us since they were young babies and it is a pleasure to watch them grow up as part of The Ark family.

Cooking, baking, crafting and creating – you name it and you can be sure we will do it at the the nursery.  We all love using our imagination and the best way for our children to develop these skills is through the use of loose parts play.  We are continually looking at ways of enhancing our play and research has shown that the benefits of this type of play far outweigh any risks.

From an early age we like to educate the children about the importance of self- care and self – help.  One thing our Caterpillars love to do is brush their teeth and you can always be sure to see a shiny white smile from our boys and girls.
