April

April has been so much fun for all our boys and girls and there has been a huge amount of cooking, baking and eating going on!  The children in the Caterpillars room made some yummy fifteens and thoroughly enjoyed bashing their biscuits and making noise.  Our Rising 5’s room were learning all about the Gruffalo during April and decided to make Gruffalo Crumble and Gruffalo Toast.  These activities helped the children to develop their fine motor skills, whilst also learning about the benefits of healthy eating and trying new foods.

As always, our children relish playing outdoors and some of the children visited Tannaghmore Gardens, Lurgan Park, Scarva and Tandragee Park and it is clear to see how much they benefited from their excursions.  We have recently enhanced our outdoor area with some new play equipment and the whole nursery has been able to access and enjoy the new apparatus.

Playdough is always a popular resource within the nursery and the children enjoy the whole process of making the playdough and then spend lots of time engaged in playing with it.  Due to the ongoing pandemic playdough is made fresh daily and disposed of at the end of the day.
