Children aged 18months will move to the ground floor of the building, we’ll make the move gradually and only when your child is ready.
The Butterflies space is designed to gently introduce your child to a range of new activities and experiences to help them develop their individuality and learn to trust their abilities as they grow and become more confident. Our staff will ensure that children are provided with a safe environment to experience a range of stimulating activities which are both educational and fun and they have plenty of equipment and materials such as paint, water and sand to allow them to freely create and explore.
We’ll always endeavour to move our nursery activities outside when the weather is good and Butterflies will have access directly into our garden where they will be able to play, explore our sensory area and enjoy our large range of garden toys.
Parents will be provided with a daily record of their childs activities, meals, toileting etc.
BUSY BEES 2.5 - 3.5 YEARS
Children aged 2.5 will move on to the Busy Bees room where they will have the opportunity to take part in more focused activities and learn the skills that will prepare them for moving on to the structure of pre-school. With the use of a wide range of toys and materials, Busy Bees will be introduced to a range of fun and educational topics throughout the year. Parents will be kept updated so you can discuss these with children at home and encourage their learning.
In this room children are encouraged to develop their independence perhaps by dressing themselves for outdoor sessions or serving themselves at meal or snack times if appropriate. You’ll see the changes in your child as they develop these social skills but we’ll observe and guide and always keep you informed of their progress.
Our emphasis is always on fun, children will be allowed to play, learn and develop at their own pace and our staff will ensure that they are all given the attention and encouragement they need to enjoy their day at The Ark and benefit from all our activities.
Busy Bees can enjoy all of our outdoor activities and have an abundance of space in our gardens to run around, play and burn off some of their endless reserves of energy!
